EXO member Chanyeol (affiliated with SME) is gaining global attention with his solo comeback after a year.
Chanyeol's second mini-album 'Upside Down' includes a title track of the same name and reached number one on the iTunes Top Album Chart in 19 regions worldwide, such as Spain, the United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Thailand, Bahrain, Chile, Finland, India, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Türkiye, Vietnam, Fiji, Laos, Indonesia, Oman, South Africa, and Peru.
Additionally, this album ranked second on QQ Music's digital album sales chart, China's largest music platform, and third on Kugou Music's digital album sales chart, as well as securing third place on AWA's real-time rising chart in Japan, settling at the top of overseas charts.
Earlier, Chanyeol held a long-awaited 'chat party' with fans through a live countdown to the album's release, and he noted, "The emotions I felt on stage during last year's live tour 'City Scenery' inspired me. It's the music style I wanted to pursue, and I thought EXO-L would like it too."
Regarding the title track 'Upside Down', he explained, "All the songs in the album are great, so I was constantly pondering when selecting the title track, but 'Upside Down' is an intense track that radiates energy and expresses itself refreshingly, so I felt it could help overcome the heat of this exceptionally hot summer."
At the live event, Kai made a surprise appearance to present Chanyeol with a congratulatory bouquet and shared a handwritten letter expressing, "It feels strange because this album is filled with your colors. Knowing how much time and effort you have put into this album makes it feel even more meaningful. I feel proud and accomplished as if it's my own work. Once your activities are completed, let's work together more splendidly as EXO." This heartfelt message brought warmth and anticipation to both Chanyeol and his fans.
