Singer Kim Gun-mo will be back in front of the public after six years.
Kim Gun-mo will return with a nationwide tour concert 'KIM GUN MO' starting from September. On the 25th, the concert production company, iStar Media Company, announced that tickets will be exclusively available for reservation through YES24 starting on August 29.
The tour will kick off in Busan on September 27, followed by Daegu on October 18, Daejeon on December 20, and continue to major cities across the country, including Seoul in January next year.
Kim Gun-mo has emerged as a 'blue chip' in the broadcasting, advertising, and performance industries by recording the highest viewership ratings weekly through the SBS entertainment show 'My Little Old Boy.' However, he suspended all activities after facing allegations of sexual assault in 2019.
At that time, a person surnamed A, an employee of an entertainment establishment, claimed she was sexually assaulted by Kim Gun-mo in 2016 and filed a complaint, but prosecutors decided not to indict him in November 2021. Afterward, an appeal and a request for retrial followed, but all were dismissed, leading to the case being closed in 2022.
Although he stopped performing and did not even give interviews, his music has been consistently consumed. Remakes by younger artists, articles pouring in even with just his name being mentioned on broadcasts, and streams and reevaluations on new media platforms continued.
A close associate noted, 'He may have left the stage, but he never let go of music for a single moment.' Therefore, there is keen interest in whether he will share his thoughts directly on this stage for the first time.
During his hiatus in 2020, Kim Gun-mo married pianist Jang Ji-yeon, but he also garnered fans' sympathy after announcing his divorce about 2 years and 8 months later.
