Kim Byeong-man revealed the reasons he couldn't be proactive about his divorce from his ex-wife.
On the 25th, TV Chosun's "Lovers of Joseon" reported on Kim Byeong-man's recent situation as he announced his remarriage.
That day, Kim Byeong-man recalled the difficult times he faced during the divorce lawsuit, stating with a somber expression, "I was in a situation where I was struggling."
He said, "I couldn't be proactive about the divorce. To what extent will the public understand? To what extent do I need to speak for them to believe it as the truth? Without the cameras, I was in a very severe state. I was living with my mother, but as soon as we registered our marriage, I sent her back right away," unveiling the shocking story he had with his ex-wife.
Despite this, Kim Byeong-man explained why he couldn't get divorced. He said, "I worked hard to become a comedian and obtained the character 'Master.' I didn't want to be held back. To go smoothly, there shouldn't be any controversies. I was most afraid of going back to poverty. I chose to give up on divorce and lived while protecting my career. On air, I pretended to be happy because I couldn't show signs of struggle."
He continued, "I remember going on stage. I received a call from home. It seemed that the income was low. In a situation where voices were raised, I went into recording. I threw my phone while pleading. (After hanging up) I gathered my hair and played the role of a child, but it felt like someone was stabbing me with a knife next to me."
Kim Byeong-man said, "The things I could do were limited due to my mental state. Documentaries, jungles, and distant places... The lush jungle is really nice." He added, "I thought I wouldn't mind if I didn't broadcast. After three years of divorce lawsuits, I finally received the divorce ruling. The one who pulled me out was my current wife."
