Walking On Thin Ice has released its second teaser video, revealing the beginning of a precarious partnership and intensified suspense.
Set to air for the first time on Sept. 20 (Saturday) at 9:20 p.m., the new KBS 2TV weekend mini-series Walking On Thin Ice (directed by Song Hyun-wook / written by Jeon Young-shin / produced by Baram Pictures and Slingshot Studio) depicts the perilous partnership diary of a parent, Kang Eun-soo, who wants to protect her family, and a two-faced teacher, Lee Kyung, resulting from a chance discovery of a bag of drugs.
Walking On Thin Ice is attracting attention as a well-made work collaborating director Song Hyun-wook, who perfectly balances a variety of genres spanning romance, thriller, and action, with writer Jeon Young-shin, who possesses both a dense narrative and realism. Additionally, talented actors including Lee Young-ae, Kim Young-kwang, and Park Yong-woo, alongside Bae Soo-bin, Jo Yeon-hee, and Hwang Jae-yeol, have joined the cast, making it one of the most anticipated works of the second half of the year.
The second teaser released today (26th) begins by showing moments when an unexpected incident begins to crack the calm family life of Eun-soo. The warm daily life of Eun-soo, who smiled at her daughter, rapidly descends into catastrophe due to her husband's deteriorating health, financial bankruptcy, and repossession notices plastered throughout their home.
The bag that Eun-soo discovered when she suddenly needed a large sum of money leads her down an irreversible path. While Lee Kyung is an art instructor by day, at night, she works as an MD in clubs under the alias James. As the two meet, their relationship transforms from parent and teacher into a precarious partnership.
Eun-soo's bold partnership proposal to Lee Kyung showcases a moment of awakening that transcends her life as a housewife. Eun-soo's determination to take risks and Lee Kyung's sharp line questioning, "Can you handle this?" elevates the tension and sparks curiosity about the calamity that may befall their partnership.
In particular, this second teaser video captures Lee Young-ae's acting transformation, which is a stark 180 degrees change from before. Eun-soo's desperation and resolve, as she steps into the taboo world for her family, along with her cold expression, enhance the immersion and leave a strong impact. Kim Young-kwang also showcases a cold charisma as James, who designs crimes while managing clientele, delicately portraying a character balancing on the line between good and evil, maximizing the drama's synergy.
