On the 25th, the management company Janyouary stated, "We have completed filing complaints and charges related to violations of the Information and Communications Network Act (defamation), obstruction of business, insults, and spreading false information concerning Na Sang-hyun Band through the law firm Jeongdok, and an investigation is underway." They added, "We are identifying individuals posting malicious false information and insulting expressions regarding members of Na Sang-hyun Band on X (formerly Twitter) and Google Drive, and we are continuously monitoring and collecting instances of ongoing false information and insulting expressions on SNS."
"The specific situations of Na Sang-hyun Band members raised by some online users are nonexistent false facts, and therefore, it cannot be established that there are victims based on those situations," they emphasized. "We sincerely apologize for the confusion and disappointment caused by our initial inadequate response to fans who cherish Na Sang-hyun Band. We will do our best to protect the rights and restore the reputation of our artists."
Earlier, a post claiming to be a victim of sexual assault by Na Sang-hyun of Na Sang-hyun Band appeared in an online community. The author alleged, "At a drinking party, the woman sitting next to him pretended to be drunk, touched her thigh, and if she was not drunk and said something, he was surprised and said it was a mistake. I summarize what I have experienced and heard. I apologize for being vague because I fear being identified. There is no evidence as it was a private setting."
Subsequently, Na Sang-hyun stated on SNS, "I deeply apologize for the delayed response," and expressed, "First of all, I sincerely apologize to the author of the post and to those who may have felt discomfort or unpleasantness due to my past actions."
He said, "I caused harm to the author of the post under circumstances where I do not clearly remember specific details after drinking. I am especially sorry that I could not apologize directly at that time. I apologize for this late response. I know it's late, but I would like to offer my personal apology now. If possible, please send me a private message. Please refrain from any secondary harm against the author of the post."
As a result, Na Sang-hyun Band faced backlash, including the cancellation of scheduled festival performances.
