On the 17th, Yoo Seung-jun posted a video titled "Yoo Seung Jun aka YSJ has returned?" on his YouTube channel.
He stated, "I will share and communicate small parts of my life through YouTube," as he made his appearance in front of fans after a long time. The video featured his wife and four children, who live with him in the United States.
In particular, his eldest son joked, "I surf at Malibu and Huntington Beach, and at night I perform," adding, "Dad, please buy a house here," which elicited laughter. His twin daughters, reminiscent of the Disney movie "Moana," and his wife, who has been by his side since their dating days, were also introduced.
Not stopping at simply revealing his family, Yoo Seung-jun also expressed his feelings regarding the ongoing controversy surrounding him. He said, "Does everyone keep their promises? Who are you to judge?" taking aim at the critical public opinion in the past. He continued, "Starting from nothing, I have come this far. I think just enduring it is a miracle. I still have dreams and passion that are not extinguished. Life is too short," demonstrating his determination not to give up.
On the 25th, he released a warm family photo on social media, featuring his wife and four children. He added the phrase "perfect peace in the storm" along with the message "faith, hope, love," emphasizing the significance of family. In the released photo, his eldest son attracted attention with his warm appearance, while the twin daughters charmed with their cuteness.
Yoo Seung-jun rose to stardom after his debut in 1997, but he has been banned from entering Korea for 23 years due to controversies arising from obtaining U.S. citizenship in 2002 and evading military service. He won lawsuits to overturn two visa denials, but the actual issuance has not materialized, and currently, a third lawsuit is underway.
Recently, some fans requested a special pardon from President Lee Jae-myung for Liberation Day, but Yoo Seung-jun expressed discomfort, saying, "I never wanted a pardon, and I don't even know who submitted it." He emphasized, "I only wanted to return for the restoration of my honor."
Through this return to YouTube, Yoo Seung-jun once again stands at the center of public interest and controversy.
