In the second episode of the tvN weekend drama "Bon Appetit, Your Majesty" (directed by Jang Tae-yoo, written by fGRD), which aired on the 24th, Yeon Ji-young (played by Lim Yoon-a) was transported to the palace as a reward for captivating the tyrant Lee Heon (played by Lee Chae-min) with her exquisite cooking, foreshadowing difficult days ahead.
As a result, the viewership rating for the second episode recorded an average of 6.5% and a peak of 8.7% in metropolitan area households, and an average of 6.6% and a peak of 8.6% nationwide, marking a significant increase compared to its first broadcast and securing the top position in simultaneous cable and general programming channels.
Captive after being caught by the royal army, Yeon Ji-young began preparing for a grand banquet to entertain the father-son duo, Cha Hong-sa (played by Oh Ui-sik), who were said to take the women away. The available ingredients were scarce, and the only fresh meat found was so tough it wouldn't even yield to a knife. Yeon Ji-young then ignited her passion by plunging her hands into hot water to achieve the perfect cooking temperature for the meat. Following Yeon Ji-young's instructions, the assistants also made the seasoning using ingredients transported from various places, and with everyone's efforts, a beautifully colored sous-vide steak was completed.
However, Im Song-jae began nitpicking at the food before even tasting it, causing Yeon Ji-young to become furious. If things continued like this, both the inspector's granddaughter and Yeon Ji-young, who completed the food, would not be safe.
As this unfolded, the situation began to change dramatically with the appearance of Lee Heon in the government office. Lee Heon proposed to personally taste Yeon Ji-young's food. Confident that Lee Heon, who possessed an absolute palate capable of detecting subtle flavor differences, would catch onto his intentions, Yeon Ji-young confidently presented the sous-vide steak.
