Home Alone recorded a weekly 2049 viewership rating of 1st place across all genres in the third week of August 2025, continuing its streak of 1st place in the weekly 2049 ratings for three consecutive weeks.
The August 22nd broadcast of the MBC entertainment show Home Alone featured Lee Jang-woo scuba diving in the blue sea of Goseong, Gangwon Province, and Lee Joo-seung, who has become a 'dinosaur student.'
According to the viewership survey company Nielsen Korea, Home Alone had a core 2049 viewership rating of 3.5% (based on the metropolitan area), achieving 1st place among all programs aired on Friday, as well as 1st place overall among all programs broadcast during the past week.
The top 1-minute highlight was garnered by Lee Jang-woo, who made his ocean entry through scuba diving after seven years. The mystical underwater scenery, filled with numerous sea urchins, cute jellyfish, starfish, and coral reefs, captured the viewers' attention, and the peak rating soared to 7.9% for households.
Lee Jang-woo headed to a secret spot in Goseong, Gangwon Province, to scuba dive again after seven years. He was so immersed in the ocean that he earned an instructor's certification, which requires more than 300 dives. He met actress Ha Jae-sook, with whom he once enjoyed diving, recalling memories as 'dugong siblings.' Later, Lee Jang-woo transformed into a 'dugong chef' and moved the Ha Jae-sook couple by cooking dishes that showcased the flavors of the living sea.
The subsequent segment featuring Lee Joo-seung's 'Dinosaur Exploration Life' also piqued the curiosity of viewers. Visiting a natural history museum, he immersed himself in the amazing 'world of dinosaurs' while listening to the explanation from a child docent known as 'dinosaur expert.' At home, he excavated dinosaur bones using a fossil excavation kit and decorated his room with various goods, displaying his pure affection for dinosaurs.
The upcoming broadcast on the 29th promises a glimpse into the New York life of Park Cheon-hyu, the first Korean to win a Tony Award for 'Maybe Happy Ending,' along with Kian84's 'Miracle Day,' raising anticipation.
