KBS anchor Kim Jin-woong apologized for comments that disregarded senior colleague Do Kyung-wan.
On the 25th, Kim Jin-woong posted on his social media, "I sincerely apologize for my careless remarks during today's broadcast that caused concern to seniors Do Kyung-wan and Jang Yoon-jung. I also extend my apologies to viewers and fans who may have felt uncomfortable because of this."
He further stated, "I still lack experience and, feeling that this opportunity has come to me as a precious gift, I became overly eager and was not cautious enough. As a result, I ended up saying words that I should not have said." He emphasized, "In particular, senior Do Kyung-wan has always encouraged me even when I was working in the regions, telling me to contact him if I was ever hungry, and has shown warmth in taking care of his juniors. I feel truly regretful for causing him great trouble."
Kim Jin-woong reflected, "Through this incident, I have painfully realized how deeply hurtful thoughtless remarks can be. I will maintain vigilance to ensure that such incidents do not happen again. I sincerely apologize."
Earlier, on the afternoon of the 24th, while interviewing with a marriage information company on the KBS 2TV entertainment program 'The Boss's Ears Are Donkey Ears,' he said, "I cannot live like senior Do Kyung-wan. It may be a disrespectful comment to my senior, but I cannot live as someone's subordinate."
After the broadcast, Jang Yoon-jung expressed her displeasure publicly on her social media, stating, "There can be no laughter in remarks or actions that can't be understood by someone you have no relationship with. Such comments or actions cannot be disguised as 'jokes' or 'playfulness.' There is no 'subordinate' in a family."
