Singer-turned-lawyer Lee So-eun shared her love story and childbirth experience in the United States.
On the 25th, Lee So-eun appeared on the YouTube channel 'Mibji-anheun Gwanjong Eonni' to provide updates about herself. Lee So-eun has ended her music career and is currently practicing law in the United States.
Recalling her first meeting with her husband, Lee So-eun said, "We met shortly after I arrived in New York. It was during my first year at the law firm, and I made a connection while working at a cultural and arts nonprofit organization." The two became a couple after dating for about three and a half years. He noted, "I couldn't make a firm decision because of the issue of settling in New York," adding, "My husband is of Tongyang descent, and getting married was another significant choice in my life."
After marrying, Lee So-eun welcomed her daughter in April 2020. She confessed, "It was during the peak of COVID-19. New York was completely locked down, and when I was told that my husband, being a healthcare worker, would not be allowed into the delivery room, I was devastated." Ultimately, she gave birth at a small hospital near her in-laws, saying, "I had to be discharged within 24 hours after giving birth and returned to New York with my baby after a week," reflecting on the challenging early days of parenting.
In particular, she shared, "My husband learned how to make seaweed soup by watching YouTube and made it for me," expressing appreciation for his effort. However, she also added, "It was really tough because there was no one to help, and I missed my mom dearly. Due to COVID-19, she couldn't come from Korea, but after seeing how difficult it was for me, she eventually arrived a few weeks later," adding an emotional touch to her story.
Lee So-eun's story of transitioning from a singer to a lawyer and now a mother of one resonated warmly with viewers.
