Artist Yugyeom will start his military service in September.
AOMG announced on September 23 through their official social media that "Yugyeom recently received the final notice of acceptance as a 'specialized soldier' from the Military Manpower Administration. Accordingly, Yugyeom will enlist on September 29 to fulfill his military duty, undergo basic military training, and serve in the Army band."
Yugyeom greeted his fans, the 'Aga-saeng' (GOT7's official fandom name), directly by posting a handwritten letter on his social media. In the letter, Yugyeom conveyed his thoughts on enlisting, stating, "I will go into the military safely and healthily for our country, and I will do well and come back." He also promised to return with a more matured appearance, saying, "If you miss me, please listen to my songs and feel nostalgic. I will come back soon with a cool and good album as I continue to develop and grow."
As the youngest member of the global boy group GOT7 and a solo artist under AOMG, Yugyeom has been consistently active in music and performance activities.
He successfully conducted the world tour 'TRUSTY' and established himself as a global solo artist. In June, he released his second solo studio album 'Interlunar.' With his military enlistment approaching, Yugyeom conveyed a message through 'Interlunar' that despite not being able to see each other, he knows that he and his loved ones will meet again, so there is no fear or sadness. This message resonated with global music fans.
Additionally, earlier this year, he released GOT7's complete album 'WINTER HEPTAGON' and successfully held large-scale solo performances in Korea and Thailand.
There are high expectations for Yugyeom's growth and development after his dedicated and healthy military service.
