In the sixth episode of KBS 2TV's weekend drama 'Our Golden Days' (directed by Kim Hyung-seok, scripted by So Hyun-kyung), which aired on the 24th, Lee Sang-cheol (played by Cheon Ho-jin) and Lee Ji-hyeok (played by Jung Il-woo) clashed head-on after uncovering the details of the marriage, leading to an escalation of conflict. The episode recorded a viewer rating of 15.6% (Nielsen Korea, provided, nationwide household total) and achieved its highest rating ever. It also claimed the number one spot for the broadcast overall, marking the beginning of a significant increase in ratings.
During the broadcast, the bride Jeong Bo-ra (played by Go Won-hee) suddenly disappeared, turning the wedding venue into chaos in an instant. Park Sung-jae (played by Yoon Hyun-min) hurriedly took the flustered Ji-hyeok outside, while Lee Soo-bin (played by Shin Soo-hyun) and Lee Ji-wan (played by Son Sang-yeon) helped the shocked families and tried to stabilize the situation.
Upon returning home, Ji-hyeok eventually confessed everything to Sang-cheol and Kim Da-jung (played by Kim Hee-jung). Sang-cheol was enraged upon learning that the marriage was out of necessity rather than love. Ji-hyeok exploded with emotions, saying, "Don't tell me to live like a father. You can't understand our generation," leading to a catastrophic confrontation. Meanwhile, as Ji-hyeok's story circulated among club members, Eun-oh (played by Jung In-sun) could not hide her discomfort. When Sung-jae, who appeared late, tried to explain the situation, Eun-oh coldly cut him off, saying, "There's nothing I want to hear about that person, Lee Ji-hyeok," and Sung-jae left bitterly.
Ji-hyeok, who left home, began working manual labor at an employment agency but ended up collapsing from overexertion. When Sung-jae learned this and came looking for him, contrary to Ji-hyeok's expectations, he did not try to hold him back and left. However, Ji-hyeok discovered a check secretly stashed away by Sung-jae and felt anger over his shattered pride.
Later, Sung-jae was asked by Soo-bin to participate in a YouTube grant. He immediately declined, but knowing Sung-jae's character, Soo-bin mentioned Sang-cheol and Da-jung, shaking his resolve. After learning that Ji-wan was unemployed, Sung-jae decided to call him separately to resolve Ji-hyeok's family issues.
Towards the end of the broadcast, Eun-oh, who asked Oh Soo-jung for a blind date to forget Ji-hyeok, recalled her cold rejection of Sung-jae and wavered with late remorse. At the same time, Ji-hyeok, who came to Seoul for work, felt shabby as he could not help but hide upon coincidentally seeing Eun-oh. Immediately after, Sung-jae, who stopped by a cafe, directly asked Eun-oh, "Eun-oh, what do you think of me?", marking the beginning of a full-fledged love triangle.
