Boynextdoor has put the pedal to the metal for 'long-running popularity' in Japan.
According to the Oricon chart announced on the 23rd, Boynextdoor (Seong-ho, Riu, Myung-jae-hyun, Tae-san, Lee-han, Un-hak)'s second Japanese single 'BOYLIFE' took first place on the daily single ranking for the 22nd.
This album hit number one for two consecutive days on the 19th-20th chart and showcased its tremendous popularity by regaining the top spot in just one day. Fueled by this success, Boynextdoor will perform a new song stage on TBS's 'CDTV LIVE! LIVE!' on September 1 and has been selected as September's pickup artist for TV Asahi's music variety 'M:ZINE', with a special broadcast scheduled from September 5 to 19.
'BOYLIFE' shipped approximately 300,000 copies on its first day alone, recording the highest figure for a fifth-generation boy group in Japan. Additionally, it reached number one on the Japanese iTunes 'Top Albums' (as of Aug. 18), the title track topped the Japanese iTunes 'Top Videos' (as of Aug. 19) with its music video, and the album repeatedly peaked at number one on the Oricon's daily single ranking, indicating a 'long-running popularity.'
Boynextdoor is also demonstrating a strong presence in the concert scene. Their first solo tour 'BOYNEXTDOOR TOUR 'KNOCK ON Vol.1'' concluded in July, selling out 13 performances in 6 cities in Japan, showcasing their formidable local popularity.
In particular, the cover stage of popular songs like Creepy Nuts' 'Bling-Bang-Bang-Born' and Mrs. GREEN APPLE's 'と夏' (Aotonatsu), presented by Myung-jae-hyun, Lee-han, Un-hak and Seong-ho, Riu, Tae-san as separate units, gained a lot of attention. The stage became such a hot topic that it was re-presented as a special stage on local music shows. With this increased popularity following the tour, the new music activities are also cruising smoothly. Anticipation is growing for the continued efforts of the six members who are pushing forward with their upward momentum.
