As SBS 'Mokjjippa' concluded, former original members, from Seo Jang-hoon to Sin Ki-ru, reunited at Disney+ 'Baebully Hills.'
Disney+ launched its ambitious new variety project 'Weekly Entertainment: A Comprehensive Playground for Entertainment Held Over One Week' with 'Baebully Hills', which simultaneously released episodes 1 and 2 today, March 24 (Sunday), perfectly captivating viewers with the fierce struggles and intense eating show of the six 'Baebullyans.'
The variety show 'Baebully Hills,' featuring six aliens called 'Baebullyans' who must consume high-calorie food to return to their home planet, finally unveiled today (March 24) on Disney+. In the first episode, the six members leading 'Baebully Hills'—Seo Jang-hoon, Sin Ki-ru, Shin Dong, Lee Kyu-ho, Pung-ja, and Na Seon-wook—captivated attention as they appeared bound by chains. Even with their eyes covered by blindfolds, they managed to recognize each other by voice alone, showcasing a unique chemistry right from the start.
Amid the bewildering situation where they couldn't figure out what was happening, Hong Yoon-hwa, appearing as an alien, unexpectedly emerged from the monitor, attracting attention. Introducing herself as 'Princess Baebully,' she informed the members that they had all lost their memories due to an accident and left them with a mission to fill up on 1 million calories in order to return to their home planet. Seo Jang-hoon remarked, directing himself at the members in denial about the reality, saying, 'You guys are all Baebullyans!' and 'Don't you remember where we lived originally?' urging them to 'really get it together,' which lifted the mood with his deep immersion in the concept.
Before embarking on the actual mission, they faced the challenge of escaping by unlocking squid handcuffs and chains binding them. Without anyone designating a leader, the members began to bite into the squid, commenting, 'It's tastier than I expected,' and 'Aren't there butter or mayonnaise?' while revealing their exceptional eating prowess even under the urgency to escape. Additionally, when their weights were revealed to crack the lock's password, they engaged in intense tactics to appear even slightly lighter, generating laughter.
In the second episode, the members' desperate efforts were displayed as they dragged tires weighing up to 700 kg under the scorching sun. Pung-ja confidently claimed, 'If it's 100 million won, I might as well start a Chinese restaurant,' expressing certainty in success, but fiercely opposed the fact that they needed to carry Lee Kyu-ho, who boasts the highest weight in 'Baebully Hills.' Pung-ja expressed dissatisfaction saying, 'What's the difference from pulling a compact car?' while Sin Ki-ru chimed in, 'Is this the Guinness Book of Records or something?' adding reinforcement.
In the chaos where tricks and teamwork were intertwined, the members who gathered to complete the mission and charge their calories had their eyes turn fierce in front of the food. Holding onto a prize that went from 100 million won to merely around 40,000 won, they displayed intense concentration in selecting the menu for maximum efficiency.
Notably, Sin Ki-ru's 'review appeal' to secure ample side dishes attracted attention. Considering the character limit, the meticulousness of even worrying about adding a period prompted laughter from the members, who teased, 'Are you writing a love letter?' and 'Just give them a call.' Each member had different postures while waiting for their delivery, with Sin Ki-ru revealing, 'I sometimes lie down and watch the rider's route,' shocking everyone. In response, Pung-ja remarked, 'That person must be so scary. It's like you're being tracked,' causing the scene to erupt in laughter.
Seo Jang-hoon, using 'Baebully Hills' as a stepping stone to reach Disney+, revealed an ambitious dream, stating, 'I will become Disney's prince. I can't be satisfied with just one.' Moreover, he openly appealed for himself, saying, 'I am someone who prepares a lot,' and 'Do you all know about Disney+'s recent updates?' which earned him some grumbles from the members. In response, Sin Ki-ru threw back a filter-free remark, saying, 'While I wasn't looking, the guy's gone full on.'
As food was served, the members restored peace. They ended by mixing fried rice with jjajangmyeon and lamented the insufficient portion, saying, 'In 'Baebully Hills,' rice was the dessert.' Seo Jang-hoon dove back into the concept, asking, 'Wasn't exercising illegal there?' while Sin Ki-ru added a witty remark, 'My friend went to prison. He was caught while walking.' Furthermore, while talking, they were caught keeping a watchful eye on the food, showcasing the charm of this new concept of eating shows.
'Baebully Hills' has firmly captured the hearts of viewers from its first airing with its unprecedented unique concept, unrestrained dialogue, and eating show with high stakes. As they embark on the challenging journey of 1 million calories, anticipation grows for what unexpected missions they will present next.
