On the broadcast of Channel A's entertainment program 'Currently Parenting - My Precious Child' on the 22nd, the story of 'the parents who disappear every night and their swearing seven children' was revealed.
That day, the couple with seven children sought help regarding their children's swearing. The fifth child, Geum-jok, was particularly bad, and even the three-year-old sixth child, who was not yet potty-trained, was swearing. However, it turned out that the fifth child was suffering from 'Tourette syndrome.' In the process of normalizing swearing, the children learned to respond only with swearing without any significant interactions, which caused issues in their interactions.
In particular, Dr. Oh Eun-young pointed out that the biggest problem was not Geum-jok, but the parents. She noted that they were "too indifferent." The parents of the seven children left their third child in charge of childcare and went out, returning at dawn. Despite being a young child, the third child was responsible for taking care of the younger siblings and household chores, even showing signs of tears. Even when this child expressed distress, the parents responded to the child's dropout by saying, "If you don't want to watch the baby, at least go to school," and even swore at the child, saying, "If you can take care of the kids, you can at least get the food money."
Dr. Oh Eun-young stated, "Raise them properly. If you have seven children, you should typically be an expert in parenting. Yet, the expert in this household is the third child. Parents and children should not be in the same position."
She also criticized the parents for taking childcare for granted from the third child, asking, "Do you not express basic gratitude and appreciation? Why do you not recognize the legitimacy and validity of the third child's difficulties? Are you using your children as labor? It's fundamentally problematic for parents to have the philosophy and standard that their children should pay for food."
Eventually, the shock grew as the parents were seen returning at dawn and leaving their third child with childcare and household responsibilities while they spent time alone together. There was even talk of a possible eighth child. To this, Dr. Oh Eun-young asserted, "Zero parental capability.
