Actor Lee Sung-wook is provoking anger among viewers in 'Try'.
In the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Try: We Become Miracles' (hereinafter referred to as 'Try'), Lee Sung-wook plays the role of shooting department head Jeon Nak-kyun, who is mainly involved with Vice Principal Kim Min-sang's character and is active as a character who prioritizes his own safety over that of his students. In the midst of this, Nak-kyun shocked viewers by engaging in admission fraud under the subtle pressure from the vice principal after being requested by him.
So far, Nak-kyun has been concerned about Seol-hyun (Sung Ji-young), who has the vice principal as her father, continuously supporting him in his position as second on the team more diligently than the first place, Woojin. He showed that he paid more attention to the vice principal's well-being than to the athletes, even using Woojin as a practice partner for Seol-hyun. Ultimately, in the last broadcast, Nak-kyun, under the subtle pressure from the vice principal and the vice principal, prepared Seol-hyun's recommendation letter instead of Woojin's, who was the first priority for the Korea National Sport University recommendation with high medal scores, and even switched the recommendation letter that Lee Ji (Lim Sae-mi) wrote for Woojin to Seol-hyun's, provoking outrage.
When Woojin, who learned this fact by chance, confronted Nak-kyun, he became highly agitated by Woojin's words about admission fraud and got into a physical altercation with the student, resulting in Woojin getting severely injured. The incident escalated due to the student's injury, prompting the establishment of an investigation committee, where Nak-kyun successfully defused the situation by persuading Woojin's mother, thereby protecting his own well-being and rejoining the vice principal line.
In this way, Lee Sung-wook vividly embodies the anger-inducing character Nak-kyun, breathing life into the character. Particularly, from the moments of a realistic director general scolding the students to the annoying actions, he has effectively created a villain character that seems plausible in reality, helping viewers become more immersed in 'Try.'
Meanwhile, Lee Sung-wook appeared once again as a strong character, Chief Choi, in the Netflix series 'Aema,' which was released on the 22nd, continuing to showcase his talents.
The SBS drama 'Try: We Become Miracles,' featuring Lee Sung-wook, airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 p.m.
