Singers Lyn and Lee Soo have put an end to their 11-year marriage.
On the 23rd, their agency 325E&C stated that "Lyn and Lee Soo have agreed to go their separate ways based on sufficient dialogue and mutual respect, and are currently wrapping up their divorce proceedings."
Lyn and Lee Soo, born in 1981 and the same age, attracted attention when they married in 2014. Both Lyn and Lee Soo were referred to as 'tier one' in the male and female vocal scene, so there was significant interest in their marriage. Last year, they also collaborated on a duet project album titled 'FriendLyn.'
It was disappointing news delivered approximately a year after they collaborated as a duet. Given that their divorce comes after 11 years of marriage, there was much interest in the reasons behind it, but 325E&C explained that "this is not due to any wrongdoing or fault of either party, and that it is a decision made amicably."
Although Lyn and Lee Soo have divorced, they plan to continue their music activities with the same agency. 325E&C stated, "The two artists have maintained a good partnership based on a deep understanding and respect for each other's music and artistic endeavors throughout their 11 years of marriage. Although their legal relationship has ended, they will continue to support each other in their respective positions and maintain their relationship as musical colleagues."
They added, "Both Lyn and Lee Soo are currently active under 325E&C, and they plan to continue their respective music activities in the future."
During their 11 years of marriage, Lyn had to deal with Lee Soo's deferred prosecution for soliciting a minor for prostitution. Lee Soo received a deferred prosecution for soliciting a minor in 2009, claiming he was unaware the person was a minor, but admitted to soliciting.
After marrying Lee Soo, Lyn revealed a photo where she gave him an 8 million won bracelet as a gift. After an internet user mentioned this, she engaged in a heated exchange, stating, "The fact of solicitation is true, but there is a lot of falsehood surrounding it," and "It drives me crazy. I will let you know the facts face to face."
Recently, she stated, "At that time, I was really good prey. Whenever I posted something on social media, articles would come out like that. It made expressing myself terrifying. I thought it was not beneficial for me or my husband. Now, I realize that it was wrong, and I have learned to take a little pause and to be quiet. I have come to understand that time is a solution to these things, and I feel more at ease."
Meanwhile, the agency remarked on the divorce of Lyn and Lee Soo, asking, "We hope for restraint from distorted or indiscriminate speculative reports and ask for your warm support."
