Kim Kang-woo recalled, "I fell in love at first sight with a girl sitting across from me in a bar when I was 25 years old. Then, to my surprise, a mutual friend called out her name, letting me know we were acquaintances," adding, "In fact, she was someone I almost went on a blind date with that day. We met there as if by fate."
The couple's first meeting was on December 7, 2002, when Kim Kang-woo was auditioning for a supporting role in the film 'Dawn at the Coast.' At that time, his wife was a college student.
Even after rising to stardom, Kim Kang-woo maintained his public relationship from the start, stating, "At the time, my agency opposed it, but I was willing to quit acting because of my girlfriend." Eventually, the couple decided to get married after eight years of dating.
Kim Kang-woo said, "When I was 33, I prepared an event at the lodging while filming a movie in Busan. I bought the wedding ring directly in Busan," adding, "At that time, I asked, 'Shall we get married now?'."
