Singer and actor Yoon Ji-sung is challenging himself with BL acting.
Yoon Ji-sung will appear as the protagonist Lee Il-jo in the drama "Thundercloud and Rainstorm," scheduled to be released this fall.
"Thundercloud and Rainstorm," based on the popular web novel by author Che-shim, depicts the intense romance of youth as a relationship that begins in platonic love transforms into jealousy and possessiveness, raising expectations among fans of the original and global viewers before airing.
"Thundercloud and Rainstorm" tells the story of cousins Lee Il-jo and Seo Jeong-han, who reunite at the funeral of their deceased uncle. The drama is expected to reinterpret the dense psychological depiction and changes in relationships praised in the original, showcasing a deeper emotional line.
Yoon Ji-sung plays the role of Lee Il-jo, a penniless character with no home, money, or job in "Thundercloud and Rainstorm." After the death of his father, he struggles to find the purpose of his life, and Yoon Ji-sung is expected to provide depth through delicate acting, portraying Lee Il-jo's emotional and psychological changes as he reunites with Seo Jeong-han.
Yoon Ji-sung debuted as part of the group Wanna One through the Mnet audition program "Produce 101 Season 2" in 2017, leading the team as its leader and eldest member while receiving explosive love from global fans. In 2019, he made his official solo debut, releasing albums such as "Aside," "Temperature of Love," "Miro," and "Voyage."
Yoon Ji-sung announced his acting debut in the 2021 SBS drama "I'll Be Your Night." In addition, he is actively participating in musicals such as "Return," "Those Days," "Something Rotten," and "Happy! Happy," as well as various entertainment programs, continuing his journey as a "multi-entertainer."
