Sugar, a member of the group S.E.S, shared her honest feelings regarding rumors of separation and divorce from her husband, Lim Hyo-seong.
On the 22nd, a video titled "Divorce rumors? Separation rumors? The truth revealed by the couple, Sugar and Lim" was released on the YouTube channel 'Human That's Sugar.'
In the video, Sugar pointed to her husband, Lim Hyo-seong, saying, "My family includes my middle school third grader, Im Yu, and my elementary school sixth grader twins, Ra-hee and Ra-yul. I also have our beloved pets, Ha-rang, Tori, and Kyeoul." Lim Hyo-seong responded, "I am the family option. It has been 4 years of marriage and 11 years of friendship. We were in love then, and it's not the same now. People have changed as well. I was very kind back then. Now, I am bad."
Sugar and Lim Hyo-seong addressed the divorce and separation rumors directly. Sugar stated, "I have read so many articles. For example, if we really got divorced, who would take the kids and who would pay the child support? Shouldn't we be distant and not see each other?" Lim Hyo-seong added, "We are still together because we couldn't reach an agreement. Rather than having feelings of hatred towards each other, the kids are more important, so that decision is not easy."
Sugar and Lim Hyo-seong argued about "pensions." When Sugar said, "I hope we don't touch each other regarding pensions," Lim Hyo-seong replied, "I also pay into pensions. And if you ask for your pension, will you be given it?" In response, Sugar explained, "Since I consider you like a friend, we rarely fight," to which Lim Hyo-seong replied, "I try to avoid conflicts."
Meanwhile, Sugar and Lim Hyo-seong married in 2010 and have three children, one son and two daughters. Sugar was indicted for habitual gambling charges amounting to 790 million won from August 2016 to May 2018. In February 2019, she was sentenced to 6 months in prison, with a 2-year probation, and while reflecting on her actions, she announced her comeback in April 2022, appearing on camera as a broadcast jockey, but faced criticism again for wearing revealing clothing.
