SEVENTEEN member Jun (real name Moon Jun-hwi) will meet Korean audiences through the movie 'A Blustery Chase.'
The agency Pledis Entertainment and distributor D Station Co., Ltd. announced on the 22nd that 'A Blustery Chase' will be released in Korea on September 20. The trap poster released that day exuded tension, as if a shootout was about to break out, elevating expectations for the work.
'A Blustery Chase' is an action crime blockbuster depicting the breathtaking pursuit and action of a small elite surveillance team tracking a criminal organization that has stolen billions, breaking through advanced surveillance networks. Jun plays the key member Hoo-Pung of the criminal organization Yangza-dan, performing alongside veteran actors such as Jackie Chan and Tony Leung.
'A Blustery Chase' was released in China on the 16th and attracted 6.3 million viewers in just two days, taking the top spot at the local box office. It also drew attention from filmmakers around the world, including Asia, Europe, and Latin America, after being featured at the Film Market of the 78th Cannes Film Festival held in May.
Jun has received praise for perfectly executing boxing-based action in the work. Director Larry Yang, who directed 'A Blustery Chase,' praised him, saying, "He is a diligent actor with limitless potential." The Southern Daily in China described Jun as "an emerging action star" and evaluated that "he and the members of Yangza-dan leave a powerful impression on the audience just by appearing."
Jun appeared in the movie 'The Stray' in 2006, winning the Best Newcomer Award the following year at the Hong Kong Film Directors' Guild, and became the first Chinese child actor to be nominated in the Best New Actor category at the 27th Hong Kong Film Awards. In 2023, he won the Popularity Award at the Asia Content Awards & Global OTT Awards at the Busan International Film Festival for the youth romance drama 'Family Wildfire,' and has been steadily expanding his acting spectrum by challenging himself in the fantasy comedy historical drama 'The Cloud of Happiness' last year.
