Actress Kim Aekyung shared her experience of being scammed.
On the 21st, a video titled "Excuse me~ I came to see senior actress Kim Aekyung!!" was posted on the YouTube channel 'Song Gi-yun.'
The released video showed Song Gi-yun visiting Kim Aekyung's home in Gangwon Province.
While talking about the past, Kim Aekyung recalled, "As Seoul's popularity increased, I started receiving calls from all over. They offered so much money for just one night, two to three times the regular salary. I said, 'I haven't decided yet,' but then my mother suddenly fell ill."
She continued, "The hospital bills came out to be enormous. It was several hundred thousand won every 20 days, and after a month, it totaled several million won. The tests were outrageously expensive. It was cancer. In the end, I started working at a night establishment," sharing about her hard-working past.
However, Kim Aekyung lost the money she earned to scams. She said, "At first, it was the manager. Back then, they brought cash bundles instead of making deposits. In shopping bags. Looking at the money made me greedy. Initially, I sighed while driving. When someone passed me, I would curse. So I asked if there was anything worrying, and he said he had a monthly rent of 300 and that the landlord was asking for more money, but he had no money and was about to end up on the street."
"Because it was 30 years ago, 300 was a huge amount. Wasn't it a hint for me to hear? I knew he was collecting the money, so I couldn't say I didn't have any. I thought if I didn't lend, I'd be cursed, so I lent the 300. His wife also played the organ, and they needed to install it in the basement, but the deposit was 750, I was told. The amount kept getting larger until it became enormous later on," she said, evoking sympathy.
