CORTIS, the 'Big Hit Music rookie,' is making explosive strides right from their debut.
According to the announcement by Japan's public broadcaster NHK on the 21st, CORTIS (Martin, James, Juhun, Seonghyeon, Geonho) will take the stage at the 'NHK MUSIC SPECIAL 'NHK MUSIC EXPO LIVE 2025'' to be held at Tokyo Dome in Japan on November 3rd. They proved their high local interest by being included in a large-scale concert lineup just three days after their debut.
CORTIS is receiving a great response from Gen-Z worldwide. Their popularity, especially on social media, is remarkable. As of 9 a.m. on the 22nd, they have approximately 1.6 million followers on the global short-form video platform TikTok. They are rapidly scaling up, ranking first in follower count among boy groups that debuted this year, just two weeks after opening their account. Self-produced music videos and behind-the-scenes footage that can only be showcased by the 'Young Creator Crew', who collaboratively create music, choreography, and videos, played a significant role in captivating users.
CORTIS will come closer to global fans by releasing the track 'What You Want (feat. Teezo Touchdown)' at 1 p.m. on the 22nd. This is the English version of the title track 'What You Want' from their debut album, featuring the American singer-songwriter Teezo Touchdown, who has collaborated with hip-hop giants such as Tyler, the Creator, Drake, and Travis Scott.
'What You Want (feat. Teezo Touchdown)' is particularly special as it is based on a demo song recorded in English by Teezo Touchdown and the five members at a songwriting camp held in Los Angeles last year. With the original's official music video recently hitting the 2nd spot in the 'Daily Most Popular Music Videos in Korea' (as of Aug. 20) and ranking 83rd in the 'Daily Most Popular Music Videos Global,' the release of this English version today is expected to accelerate CORTIS's popularity.
Meanwhile, CORTIS will appear on KBS2's 'Music Bank' on the 22nd, MBC's 'Show! Music Core' on the 23rd, and SBS's 'Inkigayo' on the 24th. The five members are expected to showcase steady singing and perfect performances while dancing on treadmills. After making their mark on stage, they will officially release their debut album 'COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES' on September 8th.
