Comedian Jeon Yoo-seong will not attend the Busan International Comedy Festival (BICF), which opens next week, for health reasons.
According to the Busan International Comedy Festival, Jeon Yoo-seong will not participate in the comedy book concert event scheduled for September 6 at Dongseo University in Haeundae District, Busan.
The comedy book concert is an event of the 13th Busan International Comedy Festival, transforming from the comedy film festival that received positive reviews last year. Jeon Yoo-seong, who serves as the honorary chair of BICF, was supposed to take the stage with comedians who authored books and share various stories with the citizens, but he was recently excluded from the grants list.
Jeon Yoo-seong has reportedly been unable to attend events due to declining health recently, and Lee Hong-ryeol and Jung Sun-hee will take the stage instead of him.
Earlier, Jeon Yoo-seong was engulfed in health concerns due to his noticeably weight loss. Last year, Jeon Yoo-seong confessed on a web entertainment show that he was hospitalized for three different medical conditions this year, including acute pneumonia, arrhythmia, and COVID-19. Jeon Yoo-seong jokingly remarked, 'I expect to be selected as an excellent patient at the end of the year. It is hard for one person to experience that many types of illnesses. Isn't it three in a year?'
Additionally, reports emerged last month that he was hospitalized for pneumothorax and underwent a procedure, raising concerns among fans.
