In the episode aired on the 21st, KBS2TV's entertainment show Problem Child in House featured comedian Ko Myung Hwan. Hong Jin Kyung warmly greeted him, saying, "I know you're busy, but it's been a while since I've seen you on a variety show." Ko Myung Hwan, who has a connection with Hong Jin Kyung from nearly 25 years ago, revealed Hong Jin Kyung's past following Kim Sook.
Ko Myung Hwan said, "Back in the day, I met often with SM comedians. Hong Jin Kyung is a model, and we played together. Hong Jin Kyung was on the 2nd or 4th floor," but was interrupted by Hong Jin Kyung. She asked, "It's been a while since we've met. Why are you doing this to me?" and emphasized again, "I'm a parent."
Kim Jong Kook calmed Hong Jin Kyung, saying, "You can sit on the stairs," while Ko Myung Hwan remarked, "I was leaning against the wall on the stairs and was asleep." He added, "I was in charge of finding Hong Jin Kyung. I never failed to find her. She couldn't go alone, so I always took a taxi to bring her back and forth."
In response, Kim Jong Kook asked, "You were that close and only met after 25 years?" Hong Jin Kyung expressed her confusion, saying, "Let's reconnect. Why hasn't it been so easy to contact?" Ko Myung Hwan made everyone laugh, saying, "Jin Kyung didn't know my contact details. When we first got trained, we were told not to ask for other celebrities' phone numbers, as it would seem like we were trying to hook up, and it gave a bad impression. I thought Jin Kyung had given me her number, but it turns out she hadn't."
Ko Myung Hwan mentioned a traffic accident that prompted his start as a writer. Before facing a critical moment two days later, Ko Myung Hwan shared, "What people misunderstand is that I would achieve accomplishments, establish corporations, and die comfortably, but it's not true at all. I have no interest in wealth, fame, or attention," and went on to say, "At that time, I had two houses, but they had no significance. The harsh reality is that my heart was directed toward the future. When standing before death, the future me meets the real me in the present. That's how I connect with the world."
In that moment, Ko Myung Hwan reflected, "I realized that when I was born as a comedian, it wasn't my true path," recalling the beginning of his new life as a writer.
Ko Myung Hwan entered as the head of the team for Oh! Marketing through a public recruitment. I thought I had to do something and joined. I met the qualifications. While doing that, I performed on nighttime stages several times with Park Myung Soo. I slept for two and a half hours and that was it. After the traffic accident, I realized I had worked too hard, and I had gone in the wrong direction. I was just chasing after money," he expressed regret.
Meanwhile, Ko Myung Hwan shared the 200,000 won he won from a quiz with Jiwoo Jae and Kim Jong Kook, giving them 100,000 won each. Kim Sook, Hong Jin Kyung, and others appeared puzzled as they were close to Ko Myung Hwan. Ko Myung Hwan said, "I will give 100,000 won each to Kim Jong Kook and Jiwoo Jae from the 200,000 won I won in the quiz. The others are comedian juniors, and I'm giving this for the sake of friendship. Please invite me often."
Additionally, Kim Jong Kook is about to get married in early September, making Ko Myung Hwan's 100,000 won gift appear to symbolize congratulations.
