As attention turns to the 'second actor' at Galaxy Corporation, which actor Song Kang-ho has signed an exclusive contract with, the actors mentioned as candidates have strongly denied the transfer rumors.
On the 21st, a representative from Kim Nam-gil's agency, Gil Story ENT, stated to OSEN regarding the rumors of Kim Nam-gil's transfer to Galaxy Corporation, "It is not true."
Earlier that day, a media outlet reported that Galaxy Corporation, which G-Dragon is affiliated with, had held exclusive-related meetings with actors Kim Nam-gil, Ji Chang-wook, Seolhyun, and Na In-woo, and that some of these actors had decided to transfer.
Galaxy Corporation is a media studio established in August 2019, which has expanded its scope from IP development and licensing to content production, management, and commerce. It also signed an exclusive contract with G-Dragon from Big Bang in 2023 and has been focusing on integrating AI technology and the metaverse into the entertainment industry by promoting the establishment of an 'AI Entertech Research Center' in collaboration with KAIST. Recently, it hinted at forming a new management team focusing on actors by recruiting Song Kang-ho as the 'first actor.'
Initially, Galaxy Corporation had kept its distance from the rumors of an exclusive contract with Song Kang-ho, stating to OSEN, "Nothing has been confirmed yet," but about a week later, on the 14th, it officially announced that it had signed an exclusive contract with Song Kang-ho.
Afterward, interest in the second actor to follow Song Kang-ho increased, and there were suggestions regarding Kim Nam-gil's transfer. However, related to this, Galaxy Corporation remained silent after stating, "We will confirm," while Gil Story ENT firmly denied it, stating there is no plan to transfer to another agency. Kim Nam-gil established the comprehensive entertainment company 'Gil Story ENT' in partnership with Han Jae-deok, the CEO of Sanai Pictures, in 2021, and embarked on a solo career. At that time, he stated, "I plan to come back with various activities alongside Gil Story ENT" and added, "In the future, I will progressively expand the management as well as artist-centered IP businesses by recruiting artists from various fields."
Afterward, Gil Story ENT grew by signing exclusive contracts with Lee Hyun-wook, Sung-jun, No Ah-jin, and others, while Kim Nam-gil continued to stay busy with films 'Emergency Declaration,' 'Protector,' dramas 'Those Who Read the Minds of Evil,' 'Island,' 'The Fiery Priest 2,' and 'Trigger.'
