In leaving behind the long-time relationship with 'Wiracle', Park Wi and Song Ji-eun shed tears of goodbye.
On the 22nd, a new video titled 'Why I Am Leaving Korea' was released on the YouTube channel 'Wiracle.'
In the video, Park Wi visited an APT. in Wangsimni, Seoul, at the end of July 2025. The person Park Wi met was none other than former editor Park Jin-seong, and the two exchanged updates on their lives while discussing trivial daily matters, such as haircuts. However, Park Wi pointed out his imbalanced leg position, saying, "It's been 8 years since the paralysis, and I'm still like this," while Jin-seong dismissed Park Wi's nagging nonchalantly. Nevertheless, Park Wi bombarded him with reminders about his urine and refrigerator organization.
Jin-seong said, "It has been about 8 to 9 years since I got injured." Park Wi replied, "I still vividly remember the expression you had the first time we met at the hospital. I show that photo every time in my lectures, and I didn't want to take it back then, did I?" Jin-seong recalled, "That's right. Back then, I couldn't move my hands or legs and wore a neck brace, but my father insisted I take a photo, and I wasn't in the best mood."
Park Wi stated, "After we broke up, I had some time before boarding the plane, and my father took me for a drive in a van to show me the Ulsan sea, and he gave me grapefruit ade, but he looked really unhappy. However, when Jin-seong came to Sinchon later, my father's expression had improved greatly. It seems he started to have hope." Jin-seong shared, "At that time, I thought I wouldn't go outside the hospital using a wheelchair, and I thought it wouldn't concern me and Park Wi."
Jin-seong described Park Wi as "a dangerous person," saying, "My brother came to the hospital with friends and took me out. He didn't inform the nurses, but he brought his own clothes to change me into and took me out. So we went to a large shopping mall, and I felt like I was in another world; I thought I was dreaming. It was the first time I thought that if I could look confident like Park Wi while in a wheelchair, I would want to go out. In particular, Jin-seong mentioned, "There were about 4 to 5 people using wheelchairs, including me, and when Park Wi showed how he transferred in a car, pulled down his pants, and demonstrated self-catheterization, I thought, 'Wow.'"
Jin-seong emphasized, "At that time, it seemed as though Park Wi could do everything, but it was about 3 years after he got injured. I thought he showed me that it was possible to live well, overcoming the fear of trying something new. Since then, as he entered society, his perspective shifted from focusing on immobility to how to live."
Since then, Park Wi and Jin-seong have been together with 'Wiracle.' Jin-seong remarked, "If it weren't for 'Wiracle,' I wouldn't have met people I wouldn't have met, and I've been able to experience a broader world, which has helped me grow my dreams, making 'Wiracle' a significant part of my life." Now heading to the U.S., Jin-seong shared his plans until June of next year. Park Wi responded, "When you mentioned going to America, I couldn't help but ask, 'Alone?' That's the phrase I hate the most. Not long after my injury, people used to ask me, 'Alone?' So, that phrase is the one I dislike the most. If I have raised you as a disciple in life, it's time for you to surpass me."
Park Wi awarded Jin-seong a scholarship certificate. Jin-seong stated, "After having the accident at 21 and meeting Park Wi and participating in 'Wiracle,' I grew my dreams, and now I'll be going to America for studies, and I can focus more on my studies without financial worries, thanks to the scholarship. I won't forget the helping hands and aspire to become a more influential person so I can extend similar helping hands to the world." Notably, Jin-seong inspired many by showing he could stand on his own with the strength of his legs.
Park Wi, along with his wife Song Ji-eun, headed to the airport to see off Jin-seong. Both Song Ji-eun and Park Wi appeared to be teary-eyed as they bid farewell to Jin-seong. Song Ji-eun wiped her tears, saying, "It's always the ones left behind who cry," while Park Wi asked for support, noting, "Jin-seong, who was with me at the start of 'Wiracle,' is facing a new challenge."
