Broadcaster Park Sun-young honestly revealed her family history, having had to become the breadwinner at an early age due to her irresponsible father.
On the 20th, Channel A's 'Husband Training' depicted Park Sun-young and Kim Il-woo visiting a psychological counseling center together for couple counseling.
That day, Park Sun-young asked, "In the (psychological) test, you said you wanted to rely on someone. You really want to rely on someone, right?" to which he replied, "Of course. I just want a normal, ordinary life. My husband working outside, doing housework, and occasionally traveling together are things I really enjoy. But since the situation is not like that, I've worked hard and gone out to earn."
He honestly stated in response to the question, "What did your dad do for work?" that "From my childhood memories, it seems like he didn't stay long at any company and changed jobs a lot. He mostly went out, so I don't have much affection for my father."
When asked, "Is it because you didn't have much time to contact him?" he replied, "There was no time to contact him, and he was selfish, with no warmth towards his children, so my mom did everything."
However, when the question "Were you the eldest daughter?" was brought up, Park Sun-young said, "I was the eldest daughter. While my mom was alive, she did all the housework, but my mother passed away when I was in my second year of college. She had a brain hemorrhage. There was a sign of it before, but she left a week later," and she appeared emotional while talking about her mother.
He expressed deep guilt in the psychological test, saying, "The biggest mistake I made was not taking good care of my mother." As memories of his mother surfaced, he said, "It's been a long time since I talked about my mother," and ultimately shed tears.
The counselor remarked, "Your mom must have relied on you a lot," and Park Sun-young reflected, "I couldn't be a source of support. Because I was a high school student back then, starting college and just beginning my career at the broadcasting station, the only thing I did to honor her was to give her my first grant from my appearance fee, which was popular back then for yoga, and that was all."
"(If my mother had lived longer) it would have been better. I think things would have changed a bit more. Because after that, I started working, and my father took all the insurance money and family assets that were supposed to go to my mother. From then on, I couldn't see him, and when he became ill, he sought me out. From that point on, I took care of my father," he shared about the difficult time.
