Actor Ji Chang-wook's side dismissed the rumors of his transfer to Galaxy Corporation, stating, "It's utterly false."
On the 21st, Ji Chang-wook's agency, Spring Company, expressed to OSEN, "(The rumor about his transfer to Galaxy Corporation) is utterly false."
Ji Chang-wook had previously shown strong trust and bonds with Spring Company, which was established by his longtime manager in 2023.
Meanwhile, on this day, a media outlet reported that Galaxy Corporation, home to G-Dragon, had held exclusive meetings with actors including Kim Nam-gil, Ji Chang-wook, Seolhyun, and Na In-woo, and that some of these actors had decided to transfer.
Galaxy Corporation, established in August 2019, has expanded its scope from IP development and licensing to content production, management, and commerce. In 2023, it signed an exclusive contract with G-Dragon from Big Bang and has been focused on integrating AI technology and the metaverse into the entertainment industry, with plans to establish an 'AI Entertainment Tech Research Center' in collaboration with KAIST.
In particular, it recently signed an exclusive contract with Song Kang-ho and signaled plans to form a management team centered on actors. Following this, reports surfaced that Ji Chang-wook had discussions regarding an exclusive contract with Galaxy Corporation, making him a candidate as the 'second actor' from Galaxy Corporation after Song Kang-ho; however, the agency clarified, "It's utterly false."
Meanwhile, Ji Chang-wook is set to release the Disney+ drama 'The Manipulated' and director Yeon Sang-ho's new film 'The Colony' in the second half of this year, and he is currently busy filming the Netflix project 'Scandal (tentative title). He also announced news of his appearance in the new drama 'Human X Gumiho.'
