Singer Kang Su-ji opened up about her intense immigrant days while living in the United States.
On the 20th, a video titled "A special gift story from New York!" was released on the YouTube channel "Kang Su-ji TV, living and loving."
Kang Su-ji reminisced about the past, saying that her nephews visited her in New York. She said, "When I open the room, it smells like America. It's like the scent of fabric softener, the scent I smelled when I first went to America."
Kang Su-ji, who lived on 51st Street in Manhattan, New York, said, "I lived with my grandmother in a nurse's APT. The sounds of hoofbeats and sirens were relentless in the early morning."
He added, "Since it was a difficult case, I worked a lot right after I got there. I worked at a T-shirt store, as a grocery cashier, and in a nail shop. I even worked to prevent theft."
Additionally, she said, "After moving to Queens, I lived week to week. I also worked as a babysitter, and the family I stayed with at the time is now known to be a successful immigration lawyer."
Meanwhile, Kang Su-ji married broadcaster Kim Guk-jin in 2018.
