TV CHOSUN's new weekend mini-series 'Confidence Man KR' features Park Min-young and Park Hee-soon revealing their groundbreaking visuals in the 'Impact Super Con Duo Transformation' at their first shoot.
Set to premiere on Sept. 6 (Saturday), the new weekend mini-series 'Confidence Man KR' (written by Hong Seung-hyun and Kim Da-hye, directed by Nam Ki-hoon, produced by TMI Group) is a 'caper comedy' about three con artists with versatile skills embarking on a quest for revenge against the villains of this era.
'Confidence Man KR' is drawing significant attention as it brings together director Nam Ki-hoon, known for his delicate directing in 'Casino', 'Kiss Sixth Sense', 'Oh My Baby', 'Voice 3', and writer Hong Seung-hyun, who showcased meticulous structuring in 'Criminal Minds' and 'Cheo Yong 1, 2', along with writer Kim Da-hye, who possesses solid writing skills and overflowing imagination. With outstanding performances from Park Min-young, Park Hee-soon, and Joo Jong-hyuk, it is anticipated to be one of the top works in the second half of 2025.
In particular, Park Min-young plays the role of Yoon Yi-rang, the leader of the 'Confidence Man Team', who has an IQ of 165 and a genius brain in the top 1%, showcasing a bubbly charm. Park Hee-soon takes on the role of James, representing the humanization of French chic, emitting a unique charm.
Relatedly, Park Min-young and Park Hee-soon are gaining attention with a 'shock visual transformation two-shot' that bursts with 'otherworldly tension.' The scene depicts Yoon Yi-rang (Park Min-young) and James (Park Hee-soon) starting a covert operation at the first stage in a casino. Yoon Yi-rang transforms into a 'magical casino owner' in a delicate hanbok with a neat hair bun, while James becomes a 'legendary 60-year-old dealer' sporting graying hair, a shaggy beard, and a traditional robe, creating a shocking contrast.
Moreover, Yoon Yi-rang reveals a fierce gaze and a firm expression, demonstrating the essence of a power struggle, while James raises a spirit wand, exuding a desired aura that captivates attention. With relaxed poses showcasing their presence, the two seem to leap out of a comic, foreshadowing a 'zero sense of reality' as the outcome of their operation remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, Park Min-young and Park Hee-soon displayed a camaraderie that is hard to believe was their first interaction in the 'First Stay at the Casino' scene. Park Hee-soon's initial shocking transformation became a hot topic on set, and Park Min-young playfully teased him, showing her playful side. Park Hee-soon also enjoyed his epic transformation, taking selfies with Park Min-young and the other actors, creating a cheerful atmosphere.
