Actress Choi Jeong-yoon spoke about the visitation rights of her children with her ex-husband on 'Unexpectedly Adult.'
In the 10th anniversary special episode 8 of tvN STORY 'Unexpectedly Adult' aired on the 19th, veteran divorce judge Jeong Hyun-sook, who has 21 years of experience, grants insights.
Judge Jeong Hyun-sook is currently serving as the Director General at the Daegu Family Court, Gyeongju branch, and has resolved over 5,000 divorce cases over the years.
On that day, Judge Jeong Hyun-sook mentioned various precedents from divorce cases while discussing, and also explained about 'visitation rights.'
'Visitation rights' refer to the right of the non-custodial parent to regularly meet or contact their children. Judge Jeong emphasized, "This is not only the parent's right but also the child's right. Even if a parent is the primary custodian, they cannot arbitrarily prevent the non-custodial parent from meeting the child."
Then Judge Jeong Hyun-sook asked Choi Jeong-yoon, "I understand you are raising your children after the divorce. Does your child often meet with their father?"
To this, Choi Jeong-yoon explained, "Legally it is set for twice a month, but we are adapting flexibly based on the child's condition and schedule," and Judge Jeong Hyun-sook praised her, saying, "You are doing very well."
Meanwhile, Choi Jeong-yoon married Yoon Tae-joon, the eldest son of the vice president of the E-Land Group and a member of the group Eagle Five, in 2011. The couple welcomed their first daughter in 2016, five years after the wedding.
However, the couple revealed that they are undergoing divorce proceedings as of 2021, and custody has been granted to Choi Jeong-yoon, who is raising their daughter alone.
Choi Jeong-yoon returned to the drama scene after three years with 'Kind-hearted Captain,' and is showing various activities by participating in the film 'Rebound.' Additionally, she is updating her current status through YouTube.
