Lee Sugeun's wife, Park Jiyun, revealed her thoughts ahead of her kidney transplant surgery.
On the 19th, Park Jiyun said, "After suffering from pregnancy poisoning, my kidney has not been functioning, and I had to receive a kidney transplant, but due to rejection, I had no choice but to continue dialysis," adding, "My brother has been continuously encouraging me for a transplant since seven years ago, but I have been declining because I felt guilty about putting a burden on my family again."
She continued, "During this time, my brother had to undergo open surgery due to gallstones, and I also decided to receive my brother's kidney under the judgment of the medical staff and the consent of my family due to issues with my heart and blood vessels. The fact that my father and then my brother have both given their hearts for me weighs heavily on me, but I know that what I received is not an organ but the deep love of my family, so I can only be grateful and grateful again."
She conveyed her gratitude, saying, "In the future, I will not forget this grace and will cherish and live each day more healthily. Especially to my loving friends who supported me! I will repay each and every one of you. I have been grateful for the many cheers I received, and I also had many thoughts together."
In particular, Park Jiyun said, "Above all, what I was most cautious about was the concern that my situation might reflect sadness in my husband's appearance. It is his job to bring laughter to people. There is a saying I have liked for a long time: 'A comedian is not a funny person, but a person who gives laughter.' My husband always wants to convey laughter to people, just as that saying goes."
She added, "So, I have a great desire for my pain not to show in my husband's appearance. I hope that my husband's name will no longer be mentioned along with my pain. In the future, when I think of my husband's name, I hope that laughter rather than sadness and warm stories rather than worries will be conveyed more often," saying, "I will quietly support him as a person who encourages laughter, rather than as a broadcaster with a sick wife."
Park Jiyun promised, "I will refrain from going out and will keep my phone away for a while, thinking only of myself during this time. I will contact you slowly once I return. I will take care of myself for a while and recover well."
Meanwhile, Park Jiyun, after being damaged by complications from pregnancy poisoning during her second pregnancy in 2011, received a kidney transplant from her father but has continued painful kidney dialysis treatment for over 10 years due to complications.
When recommended for a kidney transplant by medical staff in 2021, Park Jiyun initially rejected the idea strongly due to the pain of the first surgery, but after hearing that advancements in technology and improvements in medication could change her quality of life, she changed her mind and applied for a brain-dead donor waitlist. She decided to receive a kidney transplant from her brother in mid-August.

After suffering from pregnancy poisoning, my kidney has not been functioning.
I received a kidney transplant, but due to rejection...
...I had no choice but to continue dialysis.
My brother has been encouraging me for a transplant since seven years ago,...
...but I felt guilty about putting a burden on my family again.
...I have been declining.
During this time, my brother had to undergo open surgery due to gallstones,...
...and I also had issues with my heart and blood vessels.
Under the judgment of the medical staff and the consent of my family...
...I decided to receive my brother's kidney.
After my father, my brother has...
...also given his heart for me.
This weighs heavily on me,...
...but I know that what I received is not an organ...
...but the deep love of my family.
...so I can only be grateful and grateful again.
In the future, I will not forget this grace...
...and will cherish and live each day more healthily.
Especially to my loving friends who supported me!
...I will repay each and every one of you.
I have been grateful for the many cheers I received,...
...and I also had many thoughts together.
Everyone lives with their own hardships.
...I know that I am not the only one suffering.
So I am more cautious.
And above all, what I was most cautious about was...
...the concern that my situation might reflect sadness in my husband's appearance.
It is his job to bring laughter to people.
There is a saying I have liked for a long time.
"A comedian is not a funny person, but a person who gives laughter."
My husband always wants to convey laughter to people, just as that saying goes.
So, I have a great desire for my pain not to show in my husband's appearance.
I hope that my husband's name will no longer be mentioned along with my pain.
In the future, when I think of my husband's name,...
...I hope that laughter rather than sadness...
...and warm stories rather than worries will be conveyed more often.
I will quietly support him as a person who encourages laughter...
...rather than as a broadcaster with a sick wife.
...I will quietly support him.
I will keep my personal life within myself.
I hope that this writing remains as a record of my feelings...
...rather than being conveyed as an article.
...and I hope it remains quietly.
Please keep my personal matters within this space.
...and I will take a break from going out for a few months.
I will also keep my phone away for a while...
...during this time to think only of myself.
I will contact you slowly once I return.
I will take care of myself for a while and recover well.
Always stay healthy and have a beautiful day.
