tvN STORY's new variety show 'It's Okay to Be a Martian' will feature a Martian that shocks MC Ahn Jung Hwan and Jeong Hyung Don.
Debuting on Sept. 1 (Mon.) at 8 p.m., tvN STORY's 'It's Okay to Be a Martian' (directed by Song Myung Jin) is a program that summons Martians hidden on Earth to verify their special abilities. Amid the announcement of the unprecedented emergence of a new type of humanity with a unique worldview, unpredictable lives, bizarre stories, and shocking visuals, MCs Ahn Jung Hwan and Jeong Hyung Don are chosen to identify the Martians with keen eyes, generating buzz even before the show's premiere.
The highlight video released today (20th) features two agents, 'Terry' Ahn Jung Hwan and 'Donnie' Jeong Hyung Don, visiting a secret base hidden on Earth, capturing attention. AI Marty, waiting for them at the base, greets them with, "My only purpose is to find 687 Martians. Can you do it?" However, Ahn Jung Hwan points out, "Why are you speaking informally? How old are you?", showcasing a dad-like wit that raises expectations for their chemistry.
Following this, a subtitle appears with siren sounds saying, 'A new Martian invasion begins.' As the unpredictable traits of the Martians, such as Martian-level physiques, Martian-level couples, and Martian-level appetites, are revealed one after another, the two MCs exclaim, "If it was this kind of show, I wouldn't have done it," bringing laughter.
Additionally, the talk with Martians proves somewhat overwhelming for the human MCs, and with their unexpected physical (?) attacks added on, the studio soon descends into chaos. Eventually, a scene of Jeong Hyung Don going overboard with a physiological phenomenon is captured, raising questions about whether the Martian exploration operation can succeed before the main broadcast.
