JYP Entertainment has taken action to protect its artists.
On the 19th, Stray Kids announced through their official social media, "We would like to inform you about the progress of legal action regarding violations of artists' rights."
On that day, Stray Kids stated, "We have repeatedly announced a strong response policy against violations of basic rights, including personality rights, to protect artists' rights, and we are conducting legal action based on materials confirmed through fans' reports and our own monitoring."
Stray Kids explained, "We have collected malicious posts and comments that defame and insult our artists by spreading false information on domestic and international communities and social media channels, and we have submitted a complaint. We are actively cooperating with the investigation agencies as necessary and will take strong civil and criminal actions."
They also noted, "As previously mentioned, there will absolutely be no leniency or settlement during the response process, and we will continuously monitor and take strong actions against various illegal acts that infringe on artists' personality rights and disrupt their stable activities, including additional complaints and reports."
The agency added, "We ask our fans to actively report any evidence collected related to illegal acts."
Earlier, JYP Entertainment had also provided an update on the legal action progress in March last year. At that time, the agency stated, "We have meticulously secured evidence against those who posted and spread malicious posts, defamation, and false information regarding our artists, and we are currently taking available legal actions in collaboration with specialized law firms."
They continued, "The act of posting and spreading malicious posts that infringe upon artists' rights is a clear illegal act, and we will take strong legal action without leniency or settlement" and added, "The collection of malicious posts regarding our artists and legal action is conducted regularly, and we ask for the interest and active reporting of related fans."
Meanwhile, Stray Kids will make a comeback on the 22nd with their 4th full album "KARMA" and the title track "CEREMONY."
