The 82nd Venice International Film Festival has confirmed the attendance of director Park Chan-wook, Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin, Park Hae-soon, Lee Sung-min, and Yeom Hye-ran for 'No Other Choice,' which is an official selection in the institutional sector and the opening film of the 30th Busan International Film Festival.
'No Other Choice' (directed by Park Chan-wook, distributed by CJ ENM, produced by Moho Film and CJ ENM Studios) depicts the story of an office worker named 'Mansu' (Lee Byung-hun), who, feeling as if he has accomplished everything, is unexpectedly fired and prepares for his own war toward re-employment to protect his wife and two children and to keep the house he worked hard to acquire.
'No Other Choice,' which has achieved the remarkable feat of being officially invited to the institutional sector of the Venice International Film Festival for the first time in 13 years for Korean films, has confirmed the attendance of director Park Chan-wook, Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin, Park Hae-soon, Lee Sung-min, and Yeom Hye-ran. The key figures who completed 'No Other Choice' will present the film for the first time at the world premiere on Aug. 29 (Friday) at 9:45 p.m., and before the screening, they will grace the red carpet.
Following 'Three, Monsters' (2004, Midnight Express section) and 'Sympathy for Lady Vengeance' (2005, main institutional sector), director Park Chan-wook, along with Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin, Park Hae-soon, Lee Sung-min, and Yeom Hye-ran, received his third invitation to the Venice International Film Festival with 'No Other Choice.' The main cast of 'No Other Choice' is expected to engage in various schedules, including the official events of the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, spending meaningful time with global film fans.
With a meeting of trusted actors and dramatic developments, beautiful mise-en-scène, solid direction, and a touch of black comedy, Park Chan-wook's new film 'No Other Choice' is set to be released in September.
