As group S.E.S's Bada faced allegations of false advertising, she personally apologized, while the YouTube production team acknowledged the scriptwriting fact and published an apology.
Bada recently appeared on a YouTube beauty content and mentioned that she first saw the product in Australia while explaining it. However, the product was not from Australia, and there were allegations that it was being advertised under an Australian concept, leading to criticism directed at Bada.
As the controversy continued, Bada published a handwritten apology on her social media on the 5th, stating, "I sincerely apologize for causing disappointment regarding the product introduced through the recent YouTube channel."
Subsequently, the production team of the YouTube channel "GLAM" posted an apology through Bada's fan cafe on the 15th, stating, "We sincerely bow our heads to Ms. Bada, who has suffered pain due to the product 'Miracle Sydney' introduced through our program, and to everyone who has encountered this matter."
The production team stated, "The mentioned lines were not based on Ms. Bada's experience but were based on information provided by the advertiser to create an advertising script, and we requested the advertiser to review the script once more to confirm that there were no issues before proceeding as it was agreed."
They added, "After the controversy arose over the product not being from Australia, we immediately recognized the seriousness of the issue and took action to delete the related videos," and "We sincerely apologize for the confusion caused to many consumers as the product introduced through our program was delivered with incorrect information."
"As the program's grants, Ms. Bada, who has always given her best, has been greatly distressed by this incident, and we feel heavy responsibilities. Since we introduced a sponsored product, the production team should have verified the information regarding the product's origin and distribution channel more carefully during the preparation process, but due to inadequate responses in our cautious efforts to ascertain the accurate facts, we caused harm to Ms. Bada and the consumers," they conveyed their apologies to Bada.
"Finally, I once again apologize for causing great harm to Ms. Bada, who has shown affection for our program, and to the fans who have offered passionate support and encouragement," and "I hope there will be no further harm due to this matter, and we, the production team, also promise to do our best to fulfill our responsibilities."
