The global girl group KATSEYE, under HYBE and Geffen Records, is experiencing a surge in popularity. After about a month, they made a return to the Billboard main song chart, breaking their own record.
According to the latest U.S. Billboard chart released on Aug. 19 (local time), KATSEYE's 'Gabriela' re-entered the 'Hot 100' at No. 76. This is their highest ranking on this chart. 'Gabriela' had previously entered the 'Hot 100' at No. 94 (for the week of July 5), followed by rankings of No. 87 (for the week of July 12) and No. 95 (for the week of July 19).
KATSEYE's upward trend is also prominent on the global song charts. This week, 'Gabriela' ranked 24th on the 'Billboard Global 200' and 21st on the 'Global (excluding U.S.)'. Compared to the previous week, it jumped 20 spots and 12 spots, respectively. Another hit song, 'Gnarly', ranked 80th on the 'Global 200' and 83rd on the 'Global (excluding U.S.)', maintaining its presence on the charts for 15 consecutive weeks.
The second EP, 'BEAUTIFUL CHAOS', featuring both songs, ranked 50th on the main album chart 'Billboard 200'. 'BEAUTIFUL CHAOS' achieved 19 spots higher than last week, marking its successful seventh consecutive week on the charts. It continues to hold strong positions at No. 17 on the 'Top Album Sales' chart and No. 15 on the 'Top Current Album Sales' chart.
The popularity surge of 'Gabriela' was reignited by the unexpected release of a remix on the 8th, along with consecutive performances at global festivals. KATSEYE captivated tens of thousands of spectators with intense performances, including a dance break for 'Gabriela' at 'Lollapalooza Chicago' and 'Summer Sonic 2025', and concert footage quickly spread across social media.
In fact, 'Gabriela' saw a daily streaming increase on Spotify from 2.22 million on the day of 'Lollapalooza' to approximately 2.68 million, representing a nearly 20% rise. Additionally, the remix version featuring Young MiCo, who is gaining attention in the Latin music scene, received a warm response from global music fans with its different charm compared to the original.
KATSEYE will hold a fan signing event in Seoul on the 22nd, reuniting with Korean fans after about three months.
