Koyote's Kim Jong-min realized the reality of childbirth through 'Wooagi' and reflected on himself for being ignorant.
On the afternoon of 19th, at TV Chosun studio in Gasan-dong, Geumcheon-gu, Seoul, the launch ceremony for the TV Chosun entertainment program 'Our Baby is Born' was held. The launch ceremony was attended by Park Soo-hong, Kim Jong-min, Sayuri, Son Min-soo, and CP Lee Seung-hoon.
'Our Baby is Born' is the first domestic variety show that covers the noble journey of childbirth and broadcasts touching moments. After its first broadcast as a 6-part series in May, it made headlines by announcing that it won the 'Good Program of the Month' award in May 2025 and confirmed regular scheduling.
In the pilot episode, Park Soo-hong covered the vivid scenes of childbirth alone, but with regular scheduling, 'new groom' Kim Jong-min and 'expectant father' Son Min-soo, along with 'voluntary single mother' Sayuri, joined as new 'birth correspondents.'
In particular, Kim Jong-min, who married a woman 11 years younger in April, revealed in several broadcasts that he has plans for a second child. He shared the remarkable timing saying, "I am trying to quit drinking and exercise to prepare for a second child, and then I got the offer for 'Wooagi.'"
Kim Jong-min said, "Honestly, I am a man, so while I have heard about mothers from the past, I couldn't empathize deeply. So, when I got married, my wife kept talking about children and told me to watch 'Wooagi' closely. As an actor, she said that. Then I got the offer for 'Wooagi' and thought, 'I should go here and learn. If I see it in person, I might be able to empathize more,' so I came here to learn a lot.
When asked about his wife's reaction to participating in 'Wooagi,' he revealed, "I was ignorant, so my wife was really frustrated. In a desperate moment, I got the offer for 'Wooagi,' and she insisted that I go and see everything. She said it's important for me to feel how to handle things, so I must go and find out."
He admitted, "I started watching this while planning for a second child. I need to have a second child, but I felt overwhelmed. I wondered, 'Was it this hard to give birth?' I had no way to know the pain, but seeing this made me realize that it's a whole different world. I was thinking of having up to two kids. I thought, 'It would be fine to give birth,' but I realized I was thinking too simply. Seeing this, I'm trying to find out how to ensure a healthy and successful birth."
Regarding whether he has thought about actual childbirth methods after dealing with various childbirth methods through 'Wooagi,' Kim Jong-min honestly said, "I heard that you can comfortably give birth at home too. I asked my wife what she thought about home births, and she said she wants to do it in a systematic hospital. She said she is scared."
Meanwhile, Park Soo-hong, who is already a father of a daughter, noted, "Even I, who gave birth for the first time, didn't know. But by watching our program, you will see that there are various ways to meet a baby. It shows how different it can be for each person, and how many diverse experiences there can be. I think our program will illustrate that." He added, "It's no longer a time when husbands are unaware of childbirth, merely ending with a simple acknowledgment of 'You did well.' It will be a program that shows the vivid scenes of childbirth without having to search for them."
On the other hand, the regular scheduling of TV Chosun's 'Our Baby is Born' is expected to air in mid-September.
