Comedian Son Min-soo revealed that he is preparing for certification for his wife Im Ra-ra, who is expecting their twins.
On the afternoon of the 19th, at the TV Chosun studio in Gasan-dong, Geumcheon-gu, Seoul, the launch ceremony for the TV Chosun entertainment program 'Our Baby Has Been Born' took place. The event was attended by Park Soo-hong, Kim Jong-min, Sayuri, Son Min-soo, and producer Lee Seung-hoon.
'Our Baby Has Been Born' is the country's first variety show that accompanies the noble journey of childbirth and broadcasts touching moments. After its first broadcast as a six-part series on May 6, it garnered attention with news of winning the 'Best Program of the Month' for May 2025 and securing regular programming.
In particular, Son Min-soo's wife Im Ra-ra is currently pregnant with twins and is expected to give birth in November. When asked about his reason for joining 'Our Baby Has Been Born', he said, "When I first watched Season 1, it seemed so cinematic. Since my wife is about to give birth, I felt a lot of empathy and wanted to participate in such a program. I wanted to join even if it meant paying my own appearance fee. I was very glad when I got a casting call, and while watching Season 1, I thought Park Soo-hong looked so tired. I wanted to lighten that load. Today, I wore clothes that I wouldn't mind getting wrinkled. I came with the resolve to carry a heavy baby on my left shoulder and care for other mothers. I will approach this with great effort," he expressed his determination.
When asked what preparations he is making for his wife's upcoming childbirth, Son Min-soo replied, "I wanted to prepare well, so I obtained a babysitter certification. I'm currently preparing for a postpartum caregiver certification. When I went to class, I was the only man there, and everyone else was women. Many of them were older than my mother and there were many who came because their daughters were pregnant. Even there, they talked about 'Our Baby Has Been Born.' So I was really happy."
He also said, "Recently, I visited Park Soo-hong's house, and he's really good at cooking. When I went there, I saw him quickly making steamed eggs for babies. He even sterilized everything at once. I thought he had four arms. Seeing that, I felt I should work harder, so I should challenge myself to get a Korean cuisine chef certification. That's how I can make baby food. I'm in preparation for that," he suggested to Kim Jong-min, saying, "Let's go together," which made everyone laugh.
Meanwhile, when asked whether he plans to share the process of his wife Im Ra-ra's childbirth through broadcasting, he cautiously expressed, "I think we need to discuss this. I am contemplating it, but it's not just my issue. My wife's belly is already at the point where it wouldn't be strange if the baby were born. It's gone past 44 inches. It's really big, so I think we need to decide everything according to what my wife wants."
Meanwhile, 'Our Baby Has Been Born' is set to return to TV Chosun with regular programming and is expected to premiere in mid-September.
