Broadcaster Park Soo-hong shared his feelings about participating in the regular programming of 'Our Baby Is Born.'
On the afternoon of the 19th, the launch ceremony for the delivery reporters of the TV Chosun entertainment program 'Our Baby Is Born' took place at the TV Chosun studio in Gasan-dong, Geumcheon-gu, Seoul. Attendees included Park Soo-hong, Kim Jong-min, Sayuri, Son Min-soo, and Director General Lee Seung-hoon.
'Our Baby Is Born' is the country's first delivery reporting variety show that accompanies the noble journey of childbirth and broadcasts touching moments. Following its first broadcast as a six-part series in May, it garnered attention after winning 'May 2025 Program of the Month' and confirming regular scheduling.
On that day, the production team of 'Our Baby Is Born' presented a gratitude plaque to Park Soo-hong, who had worked hard since the pilot. He mentioned, "I am overwhelmed with emotions. These days, I am more active as a father to Jae-i. Since Jae-i's mother has been busy, I have been sharing the parenting duties. Since starting this program, I've had less time to take care of Jae-i while witnessing the birth of new lives. Just yesterday, I returned home at 11 p.m. and found him asleep. Today, I came out early at 6 a.m. and saw him sleeping as I left."
He continued, "I want to say that I've been a little busy with this program to convey the emotions and blessings of the moment when I met Jae-i in the future to many people. I don't know how much this gratitude plaque is worth secondhand, but I feel proud as a father. I appreciate being given this plaque as it allows me to brag about having participated in a program that shares many blessed moments that help society. Thank you, Director General, and thank you for making it a regular show. I dedicate this honor to the production team who worked tirelessly through sleepless nights to edit, cast, and run around."
In particular, he remarked, "It will be the first time in Korea to actually operate the 5-minute standby. It captures the raw emotions in real time, so I hope everyone will join us and do their best." He also took an oath as Director General. Park Soo-hong, who disclosed that he hadn't slept that day, said, "To be honest, I didn't sleep. I had stopped for a while, and after taking sleeping pills, I ended up vomiting and had a rough time."
He shared, "For a while, while doing 'Our Baby Is Born', I thought about it. As Jae-i's father, my wife is also working hard, so I thought to myself that since we got a good program, I must work hard too. As I got into it, I could have made excuses that I couldn't fit it into my schedule. But as you can see from participating, every family has different stories and difficulties. After hearing those stories, I realized I couldn't just cheer for them during childbirth, which is how much I was drawn to the program."
He elaborated, "In over 30 years of broadcasting, I've encountered many programs, but this is the first time I've encountered a program that has increased my sense of responsibility to the point where I have to force myself to take sleeping pills just to be able to shoot tomorrow. Honestly, children's schedules coincide with our timelines, which can be fatal for entertainers. I also have other broadcasts and events. By September, the event period is in full swing, and just yesterday, I discussed the 'Our Baby Is Born' schedule with the writer."
He expressed, "This program is very dear to me as I have witnessed and blessed the moment of every new life being born, where the mother struggles through labor, and when the baby is born and goes into the incubator, I often find myself overwhelmed with emotions when I hear that both the mother and baby are safe. I truly feel the same excitement I felt when my child was born. I feel a sense of responsibility and fulfillment. I wanted to do meaningful broadcasts, and I am happier than anyone else that it has become regular. I feel I can become a proud father that I can brag about to my children and wife, so I plan to work hard on this."
Meanwhile, the regular programming return of TV Chosun's 'Our Baby Is Born' is scheduled for its first broadcast in mid-September.
