Koyote's Kim Jong-min shared the reason for his appearance in 'Uwagi.'
On the afternoon of the 19th, a launch ceremony for the special production reporters of the TV Chosun entertainment program 'Our Baby Has Been Born' took place at the TV Chosun studio in Gasan-dong, Geumcheon-gu, Seoul. The launch ceremony was attended by Park Soo-hong, Kim Jong-min, Sayuri, Son Min-soo, and CP Lee Seung-hoon.
'Our Baby Has Been Born' is the country's first variety show that accompanies the precious journey of childbirth, relaying touching moments. After its first broadcast as a 6-part series in May, it garnered attention by announcing that it won the 'Best Program of the Month' award for May 2025 and confirmed regular scheduling.
Kim Jong-min, who newly joined from this regular scheduling, said, "In fact, because I am a man, I couldn't empathize much with mothers, even though I had heard about them for a long time. So, when I got married, my wife continuously talked about the baby, saying I should watch 'Uwagi.' Since I am an actor, I was like, 'Okay.' When the invitation for 'Uwagi' came, I thought I should go and learn. I thought that if I see it directly, I might be able to empathize more, so I came to learn a lot."
When asked about his wife's reaction after the 'Uwagi' invitation, he said, "If I had knowledge, it would be different, but I was completely ignorant. My wife felt very frustrated, wondering what to do during a hectic time, so when 'Uwagi' came in, she urgently told me to go and see everything one by one. She said it's important for me to feel and come back with an understanding of what I need to do, so she insisted I find out by going there."
He added, "While planning for a second child, I started watching 'Uwagi,' but I felt overwhelmed about having a second child. Did it really hurt this much to give birth? I had no way of knowing the pain. I felt that this is a different world by seeing it with my own eyes. I had considered having two children. I thought it would be fine to have them, but I realized I had thought too easily about it. I was looking into how to give birth healthily by seeing this."
In particular, he revealed, "While preparing for a second child, I quit drinking and started exercising, and then the invitation came in." When asked if he would be willing to disclose his pregnancy and childbirth process through 'Uwagi,' he showed a flustered demeanor, eliciting laughter.
On another note, regarding whether he faces difficulties filming for 'Uwagi' amid Koyote's comeback schedule as a part of '5-Minute Waiting Group,' he said, "I can't cancel my scheduled commitments. So, I feel very sorry. If it doesn't work out, there's nothing I can do. If not, I think I must prioritize this first. In fact, since it's my honeymoon, I don't want to be apart. However, my wife also said I must definitely go for 'Uwagi.' She told me to gather all the information there."
Meanwhile, TV Chosun's 'Our Baby Has Been Born,' which has returned to regular scheduling, is expected to air for the first time in mid-September.
