The Netflix series 'Squid Game' swept the awards at the Gold Derby TV Awards in the U.S.
According to the Gold Derby website on the 19th (Korea time), the '2025 Gold Derby TV Awards' ceremony saw the Netflix series 'Squid Game' awarded in a total of six institutional sectors, including the drama series award.
The Best Actor in a Drama award went to Lee Jung-jae for his role as Seong Gi-hun. The Best Supporting Actor award went to Choi Seung-hyun (Top) for his role as Thanos. The Special Guest Actor award was given to Gong Yoo, who played 'Ddakji Man.'
'Squid Game' also won the drama series award, acting award, and the ensemble award of the year.
The 'Gold Derby TV Awards', now in its 22nd year, recognizes dramas, TV films, and variety shows that have attracted attention throughout the year in the U.S. television industry.
This award ceremony focused on broadcast content and films released in 2024-2025, which included seasons 2 and 3 of 'Squid Game.'
Meanwhile, the Netflix 'Squid Game Season 3', released in June, portrays Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) losing his closest friend in a game he reentered with his own purpose, while the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun), who concealed his identity, hides within the game, illustrating the final fates of participants who survived the brutal game.
With the conclusion of Season 3, the main series of 'Squid Game' has ended, and 'Squid Game' achieved record-breaking popularity, becoming the most successful series in Netflix history, experiencing a global craze.
