Singer and broadcaster Kim Jong-kook (49) is getting married.
On the morning of the 18th, Kim Jong-kook said on his fan cafe, "I'm getting married" and noted, "This year marks my 30th anniversary since debut, but instead of making an album, I've made my other half."
He added, "Still, I hope you will congratulate me and support me. It's very late, but how fortunate it is to go this way. I will strive to live well."
Kim Jong-kook did not disclose any information about his fiancée. He simply stated, "I plan to hold the wedding quietly with family, relatives, and a few acquaintances, on a scale that is not very large, as soon as possible."
Kim Jong-kook debuted in 1995 with the group Turbo, enjoying great popularity with hit songs like "Remind," "White Love," and "Twist King."
He later debuted as a solo artist in 2001, releasing hit songs such as "One Man," "Staying in Place," and "Lovely." He particularly swept the year-end broadcasting awards in 2005 with his third solo album featuring "Lovely."
In addition to his singing career, Kim Jong-kook has been active in TV entertainment programs since the 2000s, including "X-Man," "Family Outing," "Running Man," and "My Little Old Boy." Through this, he also won the grand prize at the SBS Entertainment Awards in 2020.
Kim Jong-kook said, "I always prepared in my heart for the day when I could write such a post myself and upload it, but now that I'm preparing this writing, I am more nervous and trembling than I imagined." He continued, "Thanks to the fans who have always been a great strength for a long time, I'm getting married and taking on new challenges in life. I will work harder and strive to be a better Kim Jong-kook."
