Singer Yoo Seung-jun (Steve Yoo), who has been unable to step foot on Korean soil for 23 years due to military service evasion, announced his return to YouTube.
On the 17th, a video titled "Yoo Seung-jun comeback? BREAKING NEWS! Yoo Seung Jun aka YSJ has returned?" was uploaded to Yoo Seung-jun's official YouTube channel. It marks the first upload in four years.
The video featured Yoo Seung-jun's daily life with his wife, son, and twin daughters.
He noted, "In the future, I want to share small parts of my life with you through YouTube and communicate again. I ask for your love and support."
Yoo Seung-jun also conveyed in the video, "If I don't know you, how can you know me? Who are you to judge me? ... Hey, do you all keep the promises you made?"
He stated, "I started with nothing and have come this far, and when I look back, I wonder if I've really lost anything. How I've managed to endure until now is, in a way, a miracle."
He added, "I still have unfulfilled dreams and passions that haven't faded, so I can't give up on dreaming. Life is too short."
Yoo Seung-jun debuted in 1997 and enjoyed national popularity. However, he became embroiled in controversy over military service evasion after acquiring U.S. citizenship ahead of his enlistment in 2002. He is currently banned from entering Korea under immigration laws.
