The group MONSTA X will fire the starting signal for their comeback.
According to their agency Starship Entertainment, MONSTA X (Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Joohoney, IM) will release the pre-release track 'Do What I Want' from their new mini album 'The X' at 6 p.m. today (18th) through various music streaming sites.
The new song 'Do What I Want' is a hip-hop track that captures MONSTA X's self-confidence as they mark their 10th anniversary. Despite the minimal composition, the catchy hook, groovy bass, and rhythmic drums stand out.
Additionally, the track features member Joohoney in lyric writing and composing, with IM participating in the lyrics, delivering the message, "I do what I want" in a candid and powerful manner. Over the past 10 years, MONSTA X has steadfastly maintained its position at the center of the K-pop scene, expressing confidence and raw energy as 'just a strong presence' rather than trying to appear strong, thus providing listeners with a thrilling catharsis through a refined texture.
The music video set to be released simultaneously with the song will capture the spontaneity and directness of the theme 'Do What I Want'. MONSTA X will boldly unleash the justified confidence that only a team that has 'tried everything and accomplished everything' can show, enhancing the enjoyment of watching and listening. The new album 'The X', set to be released on September 1st, embodies the 10-year journey that MONSTA X has traversed. The album title 'The X' signifies 'the one complete unknown' while suggesting numerous possibilities and new directions, and it also connects with the Roman numeral X (10), symbolizing the team's 10th anniversary.
To commemorate the meaningful 10th anniversary, MONSTA X will present a total of six tracks including the pre-release song 'Do What I Want', the title track 'N the Front', and the songs 'Savior', 'Tuscan Leather', 'Catch Me Now', and 'Fire & Ice', heating up the music scene this upcoming second half of the year.
