The 'Animal Farm' echoed in living rooms on Sunday morning.
The SBS 'TV Animal Farm,' which aired at 9:30 a.m. on the 17th, recorded a rating of 5.6% based on Nielsen Korea's metropolitan household criteria, taking first place during the same time slot. In particular, the moment when the pet dog 'Mimi' met her grandfather after surgery drew great interest from viewers, peaking at a rating of 7.2%.
The dog that the production team encountered in a village in Suncheon had its entire face covered with tumors, making it difficult to distinguish its eyes, nose, and mouth. Just as it seemed like it might be an abandoned dog, Mimi's guardian, her grandfather, appeared.
Mimi was a charming dog who expressed joy by wagging her tail like a helicopter whenever she saw her owner. However, a small tumor gradually spread across her entire face over the years. Moreover, the grandfather had also injured his leg in an accident, preventing him from staying by Mimi's side for three years, and by the time they reunited, the tumor had grown to an unbearable size. The biggest hurt for the grandfather, who desperately wanted to have the tumor removed but couldn't due to financial difficulties, was the unkind gaze directed at the 'neglected dog.' Due to the tumor that obstructed her vision, Mimi often wandered around the neighborhood but couldn't see in front of her, frequently bumping into things and struggling to eat the treats in front of her.
The Animal Farm production team transported Mimi to the hospital, where the examination revealed that the tumor covering her face was malignant. Mimi was able to have the tumor, which had spread extensively to her skull and jaw, removed after nearly two hours of difficult surgery. Three days after the surgery, Mimi met her father and expressed her joy with affection. After removing the tumor that had covered her face, Mimi was a dog with beautiful eyes. The grandfather, overwhelmed with gratitude upon seeing Mimi's face again, couldn't hold back his tears.
The MCs expressed their sympathy, saying, 'How hard must it have been all this time?' and hoped that Mimi and her grandfather would spend happy times without pain in the future. Meanwhile, SBS 'TV Animal Farm' airs every Sunday at 9:30 a.m.
