Singer Kim Jong-kook's marriage news has shaken the entertainment industry as well as 'Running Man.' Ultimately, the 'Running Man' team decided to announce Kim Jong-kook's marriage details a week earlier, and it will be unveiled first in this week's end-of-broadcast preview.
On the 18th, as reported by OSEN, the SBS 'Running Man' production team finalized the decision to reveal the marriage announcement originally scheduled for September 7 on August 31.
In related news, a representative from SBS also noted, 'The announcement made by Mr. Kim Jong-kook during the 'Running Man' opening will be broadcast on August 31.'
Initially, SBS had stated that the broadcast was scheduled for September 7. However, due to the overwhelming reaction to Kim Jong-kook's marriage news, the production team decided to reveal the opening content earlier than planned for the viewers who were curious about it.
Prior to that, Kim Jong-kook's statement is expected to be revealed as a preview at the end of the episode of 'Running Man' airing on the 24th.
Meanwhile, born in 1976 and currently 49 years old, Kim Jong-kook officially announced his marriage through a handwritten letter on the official fan cafe 'Papitus.' He stated, 'I've always prepared myself for the day I would write and post this kind of letter, but as I prepare this message, I find myself more nervous and anxious than I imagined. I am getting married.'
Kim Jong-kook said, 'In fact, I have been hinting at it little by little, but there are surely many who will feel it is sudden.' He added, 'This year marks my 30th anniversary since my debut, and while I have not made the album I wanted, I have found my other half. It's late, but I am grateful for how it has turned out.'
Additionally, Kim Jong-kook added, 'We plan to hold the wedding quietly with family, relatives, and a few acquaintances in a small scale as soon as possible.'
Kim Jong-kook surprised the cast and crew present by sharing the marriage news for the first time, not only in the fan cafe but also on the filming set of 'Running Man.'
The production team involved in the recording that day stated in a phone call with OSEN, 'The atmosphere on set was no different. Chief director Choi Hyung-in also received the marriage news just before recording, and the cast was also taken aback by Mr. Kim Jong-kook's marriage announcement.'
However, the production team cautiously remarked, 'Mr. Kim Jong-kook was very careful in announcing the marriage news, so he didn't discuss details about the wedding or honeymoon. We haven't heard anything about those specifics either. We hope you can see the details through the broadcast.'
The SBS entertainment program 'Running Man' airs every Sunday at 6:10 p.m.
