YG's Yang Hyun-suk, chief producer, directly shared news about TREASURE, BABYMONSTER, and BLACKPINK's new albums, amplifying global music fans' expectations.
YG Entertainment posted 'TREASURE & BABYMONSTER | YG ANNOUNCEMENT' on its official blog on 18th. This is an interview video featuring Yang Hyun-suk, chief producer, regarding albums from YG artists, who will be active throughout the second half of 2025.
TREASURE, celebrating its 5th anniversary this year, is set to release its mini album [LOVE PULSE] on September 1st. Yang noted, "The TREASURE members, who debuted in their mid-teens to early twenties, have all become adults now, being in their early to mid-twenties. If the past five years were the first act for them, this album will mark the beginning of the second act," expressing hopes for TREASURE's greater growth in the global music market.
TREASURE's new mini album [LOVE PULSE] includes a total of four tracks, starting with 'EVERYTHING', followed by 'PARADISE', 'NOW FOREVER', and 'BETTER THAN ME'. The title track is 'PARADISE', a retro disco funk genre. Yang mentioned, "Since this is an album to be presented ahead of the global tour, we composed it with songs that can resonate with fans," and added, "We plan to showcase the music video for the title track 'PARADISE' along with the later part of the activities featuring 'EVERYTHING.'"
BABYMONSTER will make a comeback with a mini album on October 10th. It will not include the previously announced 'HOT SAUCE', and all four tracks of the new release will be brand-new songs. The title track is 'WE GO UP', a powerful song based on hip hop, expressing BABYMONSTER's determination to soar higher. Yang stated, "We will present a conceptual music video along with high-quality choreography videos as well."
Following the first track 'WE GO UP', the second track 'PSYCHO' was a strong contender for the title track. 'SUPA DUPA LUV' is a special slow song with attractive hip hop elements, and the fourth track 'WILD' is a dance song based on the country genre, described as a track that many people would enjoy.
Yang noted, "We've completed around 80-90% of the recordings for BABYMONSTER's new songs to be released next year" and conveyed that he would visit fans frequently without any delays. In a previous interview, Yang mentioned establishing a music system that includes over 50 internal music producers and regularly exchanging ideas with foreign producers through songwriting camps, highlighting that YG's changed music system is progressing smoothly.
Additionally, the news of BLACKPINK's new album was officially confirmed for the first time through Yang Hyun-suk on the same day. Yang emphasized, "The members and producers are all working hard to prepare, and we will strive to ensure the album is released in November."
At the end of the video, a rehearsal video of the choreography for TREASURE's mini album track 'EVERYTHING' was unexpectedly revealed, surprising global fans. It is unprecedented for YG to pre-release new songs and choreography two weeks ahead of the album announcement. The rehearsal video captures TREASURE members working hard and sweating ahead of their comeback, heightening expectations.
YG stated, "This video was not filmed for public purposes but as an internal record, and the members are wearing their casual clothes, and they are not made up. It was filmed without any equipment, just using a mobile phone. Since it is a surprise gift for fans, we hope you will view it kindly."
