On the 17th, the KBS 2TV entertainment program 'Crazy Rich Koreans' (hereinafter 'CRK') featured Ive, who grants that they revealed behind-the-scenes stories from the recent ultra-large global music festival 'Lollapalooza Berlin'.
That day, Ive departed for Berlin to take the stage at the world's top four music festival 'Lollapalooza Berlin'. They arrived after a 20-hour flight, but the weather was rainy.
Since it is a festival held outdoors, it often gets canceled due to rain or lightning. Jang Won-young expressed her concerns, saying, 'What should we do tomorrow?' and added, 'I'm a weather fairy, but there's a weather goblin between us, and that's the problem. I was fine when working alone, but now there's a weather goblin.'
The main character of the 'weather goblin' was Liz. Liz has been famous among fans for bringing rain during outdoor performances. She said, 'I am the weather goblin. What should I do?' and Lee Seo encouraged her, saying, 'It seems like it will be okay on the day we perform.'
Then Jang Won-young remarked, 'Thinking about it, is rain better than being under the scorching sun? I prefer rain to sunshine.' She added, 'I feel like I am a rich person in happiness circuits,' showcasing 'Won-young thought' which attracted attention.
Afterward, the members began a live rehearsal of 14 songs while struggling to adjust to the time difference. As everyone showed signs of fatigue, Ive's performance director, Shimizu, suggested changing the order of the songs.
It turned out that everything had to be changed because a pop-up stage arose the day before the performance. Ive started practicing from the beginning again in the changed order and ran for four hours without a break.
On the day of the performance, Liz and Rei were worried about the continuously bad weather. In particular, Rei revealed, 'I only slept for 6 hours. I had a nightmare. I dreamt of a criminal,' surprising everyone.
In contrast, Jang Won-young was sleeping peacefully in the car. She said, 'I am really lucky. I didn't worry about the rain at all.' Upon hearing this, Rei acknowledged, 'That's right. Being with Won-young feels like 'Lucky Biki,' and I feel like my luck is improving too.'
Could it be that 'Won-young thought' worked? Just before Ive took the stage, the torrential rain that had been pouring came to a halt. Jang Won-young reported, 'Fortunately, it didn't rain heavily during our stage, so we're very thankful to the heavens for that.'
Meanwhile, Ive successfully performed at their first overseas large festival through 'Lollapalooza Chicago' last year.
They garnered the moniker of emerging 'K-Pepper' (festival performance) with their high-quality live performance matching the all-band play. This past month, they took the stage at 'Lollapalooza Berlin' and 'Lollapalooza Paris,' further solidifying their position as a representative K-pop group.
